Buzz Newsflash!

It is my absolute dream to walk on the moon, in spacesuit like Buzz or in space like Buzz or work on a lunar module, like Buzz. Maybe I will start calling myself, Buzz.

Buzz Aldrin was in the UK! He went to a big party at Buckingham Palace, run by Prince Philip. This was all to do with him being so interested in keeping people fit. Course you have to be really fit to be an astronaut. It's important to start early, so I have a training list-

-play football every Wednesday after school with Dexter
-run around at school-ALOT
-jumping from the fourth step of the stairs every morning (next week it's the fifth)
-using the roundabout in the community playground to pretend zero gravity

I suppose I could include the yoga class Mum makes me go to but we don't do much except for breathing and crossing our legs . Anyway I begged The Parents to go up to London with me so I oculd meet him. But they would not do it. Granpa Jack came round and said that he'd met Buzz Aldrin. I said, "I know that but I haven't!"
He said if he didn't have an urgent appointment he would have taken me and that he would try and speak to Buzz on the phone. Hmm.
I am going on the school trip to the Science Museum soon. That's one good thing I won't miss but I don't think Buzz will hang around waiting for me to go to London.

Hi Wilf,
In my view, any party run by Prince Philip has to thrive on being fit to accept his wit.
Using the roundabout to pretend zero gravity is highly clever, though I think jumping from the fifth step may prove a tall order.

On bad luck, Wilf, I'm really sorry you haven't been able to meet Buzz - by the way, I think calling yourself Buzz is a fine plan - the name has a busy sort of ring to it. But here's hoping Granpa Jack will pull something off.
Don't write off the yoga - it's great for building stamina - and astronauts need that too. Also for keeping your muscles flexible - really important for anyone wanting to be fit. You might also want to consider some weight training - I hear all the big sports stars include that in their fitness regimen.
Good luck with it all and looking forward to hearing abuot the Science Museum trip.

Yes you're right, Susan. I think Prince Philip would actually like to be King Philip and because he can't be King Philip, he spends a lot of time being rude because he is not the King and he can get away with it.
Fifth step will be a cinch! I am however slightly nervous about step 19.

Yeah, weight training is a really good idea. I think I can start with a few books, the cat, stuff in the garage and see how it goes. Maybe I'll be able to lift Dexter-he's a bit of a lightweight.Wilf

You know Wilf, I never thought of Prince Philip in that way before but you have a very good point.
When you're at step 19, don't forget to take a parachute with you. Nothing like a bit of skydiving to show off to the bug club.
